Lesson planning for Grade 5 English Home Language Term 2 (2026)Â
Week 1 – 8 lessons and week 9 – 12 time for writing, review, and formal assessments. I’ve added the extra week at the end of April as a special school holiday.
Week 1 – 2: Theme 5 – Poems are pictures (Poem);
Week 3 – 4: Theme 13 – Weather / Come rain or shine (Weather report);
Week 5 – 6: Theme 14 – Life’s challenges (Narrative / Descriptive story / Drama). – Extra drama added to use if needed.
Week 7 – 8: Theme 7: Greening our environment (Report)
Week 9 – 12: (Review / Time for writing / Exams )
Aligned with ATP 2023, Platinum, and DBE books used for planning.
Includes suggestions for spelling, sight words, outcomes per day per lesson, introduction for lesson, and ideas for homework.
Worksheets not included.
