The project includes all aspects as required by the (ATP) 2023 and the Western Cape manual (2023).

Suitable for Home Language or First Additional Language Grade 7 and even Grade 8-9 HL/FAL learners (just adjust points for research). The project provides extensive guidance for the entire writing and research process.

Introductory Activity: Information about research and how to conduct research as an introduction, as required in the ATP for the first day or two.

Research (20 points):

• Page with a hypothesis and its answer included as an introduction to the project.
• Comprehension-type questions about the movie as an extra to explore the myth and interact with it (extra – does not need to be part of the research).
• Information about all Greek gods/goddesses – characteristics of youth novels with comprehension questions to guide research – suitable for all learners.
• Create a graphic organiser or all the Greek gods.

Writing (30 points):

Craft Activity and Writing:

Planning – design your own shield to represent your god/goddess of choice.

Then write an infographic with guidance (template included) about a god/goddess of choice that you like / has similar ideals etc.

Present your information about your chosen god/goddess as part of your shield on an A3-sized shield that was made with play-doh, etc., to make it appear 3D.

All features, elements, research about the god/goddesses, and frameworks are included for writing genres to ease the workload for teachers.

Oral Presentation (20 points):

Describe the project using your shield and infographic as a guide (guidelines and framework for the speech).

Approximately 45 pages (memo of certain aspects included).

Workbook of about 39 pages per learner to complete the entire process (print double-sided).

Includes rubrics and memorandums for all parts of the project.

Available in PDF and Word, but the Word document may sometimes shift tables, etc., so use the corresponding PDF section and print it for learners.
